MORE than 2,000 Fleetwood homes were left in darkness following a fault with a high voltage electricity cable.
Residents around Manor Road and Percy Street struggled without power from 9.20pm.

A United Utilities spokesman said: "We think around 2,200 customers have been affected.

"We have an engineer on-site. We are looking to isolate the section of the cable and re-configure the supply so we can get these homes back on."

Lancashire Police reported more than 150 calls from concerned Fleetwood residents within the first two hours of the power cut.

A police spokesman said: "It's causing quite a lot of disruption. Alarms are going off and people don't know why or don't know what to do."

Small Petrol Generator £50 - £100
free standing lamps £10 each
extension cable £5

Carlsberg doesnt have a house, but if it did it would be the best lit in a power cut!

Probably a scam by WBC (We Benefit Councilors) to abuse the proud folk of Fleetwood?
