FORMER Sheffield United and Watford striker Steve Kabba is getting a fresh lease of life at Blackpool – and enjoying proving that he's still alive!
Kabba feels like a forgotten man after 18 months in the footballing wilderness out of the picture at Watford.

But he's started the last two games for Pool and scored a goal. That equals his scoring tally at Vicarage Road where he struck just once in 25 appearances.

Kabba is fighting fit after a week of hard training and, like the rest of the squad, has been rewarded with a rare weekend off.

And the 27-year-old will spend it happy in the knowledge that his career is back on track.

"Being back in the first team and playing and scoring is brilliant," said the frontman.

"With last week's game being on TV, from a personal point of view it's nice that people could see that I'm back.

>> Watch an extended video interview with former Pool striker Andy Morrell as he looks back on his time at Bloomfield Road.

"I just want people to know I'm still about and I'm fit and I'm not dying in the reserves at Watford. I'm just happy to be playing.

"I was at Watford for 18 months and I didn't really play and only scored one goal. It was frustrating.

"I was injury free but not playing so I'm just happy that the manager here has given me the opportunity to come and play some games and score some goals.

"It's great for me but more importantly it's great for Blackpool FC and we were over the moon that we got our first win at Southampton, and not before time."

Kabba has joined on loan until January but there is already talk that the club will try to persuade him to sign permanently.

That will require a fee in the region of £250,000 but Kabba refuses to look that far ahead.

"I don't know what will happen with the loan deal," he said.

"We'll see how it goes for the six months and then see what happens afterwards.

"At the moment that's not important and not something I'm thinking about.

"I just want to focus completely on playing as many games as I can, scoring as many goals as I can and getting myself back into the sort of form that I know I can show.

"Whatever happens on the back of that I'll worry about at a later date."

As for the next few months, Kabba thinks there's plenty to look forward to and believes that from what he's seen so far, Blackpool can prosper.

"The club proved last year that it could handle itself in this division and since then they have brought in some good players.

Tipped

"Forget a relegation scrap, the players themselves are definitely looking for a mid-table finish," he said.

"I think we have given a good account of ourselves so far. I don't think there will be many teams who will go to Southampton and take three points.

"Southampton have a good side and have some very decent young players.

They run for 90 minutes and move the ball really well.

"They came into the game against us off the back of two good results, beating Birmingham and Derby, who are two top teams and tipped to go back up.

"So for us to win at St Mary's was a massive result and now we've got those first three points and lifted a bit of pressure, we are looking to kick on again."

The reason Steve Kabba didn't play much is that he, er, wasn't very good.

Or maybe with the lack of support of the Watford fans & a manager that doesnt know what day of the week it is.

He needs a bit of support & our fans will give him that.

Richard M ... er, er, er, if he 'didn't play much' how do you know he wasn't very good? Welcome to Blackpool Steve ... you are very welcome here and I wish you a very successful stay, and even better a permanent move. Show Larry and the fans some loyalty when decision time arrives.

Maybe if he was more alive he'd manage to stay onside for a change!

FYA ... Paul 'Leicester was always my first choice' Dickov was 'more alive than most' and I recall him being offside loads of times ... try supporting people, it makes a refreshing change!

SK had his chances and blew them. He's far too inconsistent.
