The Solaris Centre park's play area, on New South Promenade in Blackpool, had not been revamped since it was first installed in 2014.
But thanks to donations from the South Shore community, the Friends of Solaris Park volunteers can now give the play area a new lease of life.

Rossalyn Tindall, secretary of the volunteer group, said: "The play equipment is being given a new coat of paint by a local contractor and volunteers will clean all areas on the play equipment.
"We'll also paint the seating, which will cost £1,100. We are using the residue of funds received through the Co-op scheme, plus a little extra from the Friends group.
"A total of £1,500 will be spent on the project, and some will go towards new benches for the perimeter of grounds."

Work will continue over this weekend, and the playground will reopen on Monday August 17.
