A row about flirting landed a beer delivery man before a court.

Lewis Anderton’s girlfriend was furious when she saw messages from another woman on his phone.

She asked him to leave, but he returned and broke a pane of glass in a door.

Anderton, 28, of Rawlinson Street, Wesham, pleaded guilty to causing £150 worth of damage.

He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs with £15 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.

Andrew Robinson, prosecuting, said the couple had been together about one year. On February 6 Anderton’s girlfriend challenged him about messages from a woman on his phone.

Gerry Coyle, defending, said his client’s job involved delivering beer around pubs and clubs around the North West and a woman had been flirting with him.

Mr Coyle added: “This was a one-off. After this hearing he wants to try and get back with his girlfriend.

“He got the door fixed and paid for it.”
