A CASH-STRAPPED Fylde animal sanctuary is appealing for people who donate pet food to buy tins rather than bags of dried food.
The recent storms have damaged the roof of Easterleigh Animal Sanctuary's food store and boss Mandy Leigh says packets of dried food have had to be thrown away because of leaking water.
She said: "We are extremely grateful for any food donations as we rely on both donations of money and pet food to enable us to look after the animals. But we have bags of dried food and nowhere to keep them. It would be ideal if people could donate tins of pet food.
"We can store these with the risk of them getting ruined and the animals prefer them too."
