EVER wondered how the police train their horses for the varied challenges they face on the streets of Blackpool?
Well, tonight you get the chance as Penny Farm, Preston New Road, Peel, hosts a musical ride demonstration by Lancashire Mounted Police Division.

The event, which starts at 6pm, gives people the chance to learn more about the county's four legged recruits – straight from the horse's mouth.

Sgt Christine Driver, from the mounted division, explained: "This is a unique opportunity for the public to see how the horses are trained and we are also really pleased to be able to help World Horse Welfare by holding the event at Penny Farm."

Visitors will also get to meet Penny Farm's own very special residents, the 56 horses and ponies housed and cared for by the local charity, which was renamed World Horse Welfare (from International League for the Protection of Horses) earlier this year.

Admission is by ticket only. Tickets are £5 per person and include a hot pot supper.

To book call (01253) 766983.
