FLEETWOOD'S new vicar is settling in at the twin parishes of St Peter's and St David's.
But it could be a couple of months yet before Canon John Hall is actually living in the town.
With a new vicarage under preparation on Mount Road he is having to commute every day from Carnforth.
He said: "Everything's fine here - they are good folk.
"But the vicarage probably won't be ready until the end of October."
Improvements currently taking place to a property on Mount Road will help to make Fleetwood a more attractive living in the future, particularly for a family man like Canon Hall, married to Sandra with three daughters.
The work at the new vicarage includes demolition of single-storey rear extension and conservatory with a new extension and conservatory.
Canon Hall's arrival has ended a two-year wait for an incumbent
He was previously vicar of joint parishes near Carnforth, Warton and Yealand Conyers.
He is originally from Chorley and studied at Leeds University and trained for the priesthood at the College of Resurrection at Mirfield, West ;Yorkshire.
He was ordained in 1986 and became a curate at Ribbleton and the Carnforth.

He moved to Warton in 1998.
A member of the church of England's Generally Synod, he is also responsible for the Blackburn Diocese's link with the church in Bloemfontain in South Africa.
He is an honorary Canon of the cathedral to which he has made three visits.
Canon Hall, 45, is keen on sport and is a fan of Leeds United and enjoys a game of squash.
