THE daughter of a popular former Blackpool man has made a desperate appeal for help in finding him.
Gerard Campbell was last seen at around 10am on Sunday when he left his home in Wishaw, Scotland, to buy a paper.
The 54-year-old was forced to quit his job as a taxi driver in Scotland on Friday after breaking his shoulder in an accident.
His daughter, Laura Campbell, who still lives in Blackpool is now hoping he has returned to the resort, where he lived for 20 years.
But she fears he could have been injured and that is why he has not returned home.
The 25-year-old, of Edgeway, Marton, said: "All my dad's relatives are absolutely devastated at his disappearance and the only explanation we can come up with is that he is injured somewhere, or he has come back to a place which holds many happy memories for him."
Mr Campbell moved to Scotland 10 years ago after living in Bond Street in Blackpool for more than 20 years.
He worked as a butcher at Ron Reddy's shop on Topping Street and had been due to return to the resort to celebrate his five-year-old granddaughter Jessica's birthday early next month.
Ms Campbell said: "My daughter misses her granddad. The best present she could ask for is to see him on her birthday."
Police and family members are becoming increasingly concerned for Mr Campbell's welfare after he left home at 10am on Sunday with less than £5.
Mr Campbell is described as around 5ft 8ins tall with a heavy build, receding grey hair and blue eyes.
He was last seen wearing a grey fleece, beige jumper with a white T-shirt underneath, navy blue tracksuit bottoms and green trainers.
Anyone with information is urged to call Wishaw Police on (01698) 202655.
